AwesomeCon
An anime convention that drains your sainty. Sounds about right.
Role: Programmer, Artist, Animations, Sound, Concept Design
AwesomeCon (AKA AnimeCon) was my first experience with creating a game with others. All of the four group members participated in contributing code (XNA, done with Visual Studios 2010) as well as the overlaying concept of the game. I concentrated on the art, basic organization of code structure, animation, interface design, basic AI, sound, and finite state machines.
The idea behind this game is of an attendant at an anime convention. As the time progresses, the player’s sanity slowly decreases (which is quite normal for this situation). Players are given three lives to fight (two player mode is also available for easy cruising) through enemies and are presented by a boss whose design was inspired by Furby.
Game-play screen. Player is being attacked by an enemy. The red bar represents health, and yellow bar represents stamina.
Boss room, the player must go around this maze-like structure (representing fan booths) to reach it.
High-scores are organized by the length of time it took to complete the game. The ninjas are doing the Caramelldansen dance.
